Built in the early 1930s as a minor seminary, the complex later housed a boarding middle school. Its chapel was dedicated to the patron saint of youth and students. The religious order left in 1984. From 1986, the building served for about a decade as a police training facility. In 1997, it temporarily accommodated around eighty refugees, before being used by a residential recovery community. The property was sold in 2001 and later fell into disuse.
